HOW IT ALL BEGAN
John Foundation India
In June 2007, a friend saw a man leave two girls on a road near Hyderabad, India. When he confronted the man, he told him that he was from a poor village and could no longer provide for his five children. He wanted to leave these two daughters on the streets of Hyderabad hoping they could beg and find some food to survive. Astonished and unsure what to do, the friend brought the two girls to Saji and Cynthia John. While they had no infrastructure, funding, or staff to take care of these girls, they knew that if the girls were left on the streets of Hyderabad, they would soon be trafficked. That day they decided to take these girls in. This was the beginning of John Foundation India. Since then, John Foundation has grown. Today, JF India runs a number of education and skill training programs to empower thousands of kids and women coming from vulnerable and low income families. The goal is to enable beneficiaries stand on their own feet through quality education and job-skill training.

Quality Education: We believe that education has the power to break cycles of poverty. John Foundation is today providing access to quality education, including school admissions, after school tutorials, and scholarships to children who would otherwise be denied this opportunity.
